Sure. You are most entitled to your opinion. I think catering for the randomness and the inability to know the unknowable it is difficult to conclude with any degree of certainty that any of these companies which you have named can perpetuate dominance indefinitely.

I will also point you to the examples of Standard Oil, HP and Yahoo. Twenty years ago, you would have said I was crazy if I told you Apple would be a one trillion dollar company.

All I am saying is that hindsight is always 20/20 perfect and it’s a lot easier to assume dominance based on current information. What I do note is that given that we are unable to see beyond the tips of our noses what will be the transformative technologies of the future. It’s impossible to know what can or cannot be invented next. Even my bet on the blockchain and cryptocurrencies is precisely that, it is an opinion.
